Alcombe Veterinary Surgery is an RCVS-accredited practice that (per its website) offers consultations as part of a Pet Health Club® Plus plan and has arrangements with three partner out-of-hours clinics. Based on owner reports, it handles routine and preventative care (e.g., kitten vaccinations, nurse checks) as well as procedures such as neutering, and paperwork such as an Animal Health Certificate for travel.
Recent feedback is mixed: some owners describe thorough investigation of illness and helpful reception support (including a pet carrier provided at no charge), while others raise concerns about pricing, communication around fees, and complaint handling. One review alleges a post-neuter skin injury later described by other vets as consistent with a thermal burn, with concerns that it was not recognised for weeks.

The Ealing branch told me that I was not welcome to stay with them, this is after being registered there for 25 years. This was because I’d reported them for demanding a fee from me which I knew nothing about and did not request. They admitted they were WRONG and then tell me I’m persona non grata ! So, you can’t win. I transferred to Vets for Pets, Brentford. They are so much more efficient and much more reasonable. I used to pay Alcombe £22 for THREE Mirtazipine tablets… I now get THIRTY for £38 , this is just one example of how Alcombe rip clients off , 700 % difference… it’s obscene ! To continue, I had been treating my cat , on the advice of Alcombe, for kidney disease. I had his bloods tested at Brentford and the vet assured me any disease was very slight… contrary to the messaging I’d received from Alcombe. Alcombe, back in the day, were a great local practice but now it’s all for profit. The animals suffer from shoddy diagnosis and should you DARE complain, they’re making so much profit, they just tell you not to return. I’m truly sorry to be writing this as there are still some very compassionate people working there.

Sadly, our experience with Alcombe Vets was not what we had hoped for. After a neutering procedure our puppy developed a serious skin injury later identified by many specialists as consistent with a thermal burn. Despite raising concerns early, the issue wasn’t recognised for weeks, which made recovery challenging. While some staff were kind and tried to help, the handling of the situation overall left us very disappointed and without clear accountability. I share this as a caution to other pet owners to always ask how surgical procedures are monitored for safety.

I took my cat here previously for nurse check there and didn’t realized they are corporate owned by IVC Evidensia! I got a quote from them and it was twice as much as others! Even the medication dispensed from them are so pricy! Such a rip off! Stay away!

Great local vets. I’ve been coming here for many years with my previous cat BeauBeau and my current one Edie. I visited over the last two days with Edie as she was not well. They did a thorough investigation into what was wrong with her and I am really happy with how everything was dealt with. Edie is on the mend! The reception staff were also friendly and helpful throughout. This is a busy local vets and they come across as a warm and supportive team. 4 out of 4 paw review 🐾 🐾 🐱

I went yesterday to get an Animal Health Certificate for taking my dog to Belgium. The staff were very friendly and most helpful with my concern about my dog’s condition. As was the veterinarian. It’s a great pity that I will no longer use their wonderful service. Suffice to say that I would highly recommend them for your pet’s needs. This visit left me with a very positive experience.

Given incorrect information by reception, charged me for a visit as a result. Wouldn’t respond to my complaint, and when they finally did they dismissed my claim. As my conversation with reception was verbal I cannot prove I was in the right, however I certainly was, and for the sake of what was a fairly insignificant charge you’d think they would prioritise customer service and play the long game. If it’s going to be a chargeable visit, don’t tell me it won’t be. Anyway, I couldn’t stomach giving them another penny so I’ve moved the cat over to another vet. Of course, they won’t care - plenty of other suckers to mug off! Also, they quoted well over twice as much for less dental work than a local alternative. No treats for you! Kyle Forrester
